Online Marketing Training Workshop - Beaudesert
This is what I love about my job, I get to meet real people who all work hard at promoting fantastic tourism products throughout Queensland.
Yesterday morning I made my way to Beaudesert, which is a short hour drive from Brisbane to conduct a second workshop on online marketing. I walked into a room of about 30 small and medium business operators who were all very eager to learn how to optimise their online marketing strategy. Could I expect anything better on a rainy day?! We all had a lot of fun learning, analysing, discussing and planning and by the end of the day I had even lost my voice.
There were many questions which created a great learning atmosphere and we got to review a lot of the attendee’s websites and make recommendations. We also checked the markup validity of the websites and unfortunately not many validated :-( One of the websites was done using Frames and you can read my blog article about frames search engine optimisation should you wish to gain a bit more knowledge on the matter. We also discussed inbound links and how to check who links to you (or your competitors!)
As promised, the 3 presentations are available for download here. Make sure you print them with the Notes as they give that little bit of extra information that I didn’t want to cram on the slides!

I wanted to sincerely thank you for the opportunity to attend your workshop at The Centre in Beaudesert yesterday. It was easy to be inspired by your energy and clear revelation of all the optimization opportunities that exist to small business operators, like ourselves at Mt Barney Lodge.
Website tweaking was not my strength, but I now feel the workshop has given me a good grasp of the concepts, tips and tricks as tools, and most of all inspiration and excitement to see what can be done.

Hi Fabienne,
I found your workshop very interesting, and very challenging. A great opportunity for we small bus. operators to gain far more from our web sites etc. Time and priorities are always major issues for us, but now having some knowledge of WHAT to do there is much more incentive to get cracking!
Thank you for your very well prepared and presented workshop.
Btw I think you said my site was done in frames but when I did yr check it appears not. However, I am keen to opimize so I look forward to what you discover and hopefully we can take it from there.

What a great course you ran for us learners. Now I know that our web page is not very good and 107 failed validations is bad. The bright and cheery way you presented your course kept me switched on and wanting to learn as much as I can. I have checked a few things and now know that I have a lot of work to do. Thank you again for the great day and very helpful information.
One suggestion:- maybe you could have your laptop on the lecturn and this would save you having to bend down or half kneel.

Your session yesterday was superb. At last, a session by a real hands-on professional. I learned more than at any other similar event (and I’ve been to a few). I have often wondered why my competition did better on the web, than I did. Now I know. I already know, using what you have taught me, how to increase my sales on the web, significantly. Fantastic!

Thank you for a great workshop - as I have had little experience re Google, and totally new re webs, I found it very challenging. We have been discussing updating our Website, we have now decided ‘full steam ahead’. Your presentation has given us a process to discuss with our web designer and let us know what we need to incorporate to ensure it is modern and user friendly. I now realise that I myself, must become of age and start using Google for my own personal research.
